Traditionally, producers have relied on grass to provide cows’ omega-3 intake, but this is not always practical. The type of feeding system and fluctuating grass quality throughout the season can mean cows are deficient in omega-3, which results in poor performance.

Supplementing cows with Lintec, a feed supplement made from high omega-3 linseed varieties using a unique thermomechanical process, ensures cows are consuming optimal levels of omega-3 fatty acids. As well as supporting fertility by boosting hormones involved in oestrus activity and the prevention of early embryo loss, Lintec also acts to reduce inflammation.

Alongside these direct performance benefits, the product is proven to reduce methane emissions in dairy cows. With growing pressure both within and outside the industry for producers to limit the negative environmental impact of dairy businesses, feeding Lintec offers a relatively straightforward step towards reducing greenhouse-gas emissions.
